Paula Josette Trunnell, MSN, APRN

Paula Josette Trunnell, MSN, APRN, is board certified in Family Practice.  Ms. Trunnell has an extensive background in primary care and Pain Management.  She has worked as a sole practitioner in Washington for 20 years. During that time, she navigated through changes in legislation regarding pain management and developed a Nurse Practitioner managed pain clinic.

In 2014, she left Washington State to relocate to the DFW area, so that her daughter could train and compete in the 2016 Paralympics in Rio.  This experience has given her insight into the life of the disable as well as the elite athlete.

She believes that a focus on pain management must include a relationship with the patient, a partnership to help them cope with the day to day struggle of dealing with chronic pain.

Dr. Chouteau and Paula work together to develop an understanding of what is needed to help each individual patient.  They use education to help the individual understand both the medical and coping skills of pain management.
